I have a redant version psone lcd screen. It's been opened, but only long enough for me to say "this doesn't look like the one from the book".
It works great. I also have the power adapter if you really want that.
I've never made a portable but I bought BenHeck's book and have been toying with the idea of building one. However, I don't want to have my first one be any more difficult so I'm looking to build a standard one from the book.

I'm just going to post pictures of it here to make things easier. I attempted to take a closeup of the screen but the picture kind of sucks. There's honestly not a single scratch on the screen at all.

It's too bad you don't have a picture of it running, as I know that would help people decide. Though you may not even have a PSOne to hook it up to, to do so. I've never heard of the screen, then again I've never tried to find alternatives to the first-party one.
