Not really. I went to a christian camp/retreat thing for a week. Just got back today. Before that I was just busy and/or lazy.

I did buy paint though! And it matches the genesis shade of black perfectly. It's Krylon Semi-Flat black spray paint. Looked good on the scrap plastic I painted.

I'll try to get the case painted by sunday afternoon.

Aye, and good job! You need to post some pics of it soon here.

No painting yet... I got to working on my motorcycle carb instead. And also getting some rusted screws off the engine, which I still haven't accomplished. So this portable project might end up drawling out for a while.

I'm finishing up the sanding/bondo-ing as I type :D A lot of people seem to be interested in this, as am I, and I'm settled into the school schedule now so I can get started again.

So, for the paint, should I go white or black? I'm thinking white would look a lot better. More new-gen, and would compliment the black buttons and screen cover.

Dude... Finish pics?

Also, I have an old Gamegear, a Radica, and a Genesis controller. Would you be willing to be comissioned to put one of these together for me? How much would it cost... How about cost for a custom paintjob as well? Say, Sonic blue and satin black? PM about it...

go black, then gloss it up like insanity so that it looks more "new gen" that way it will still feel like a genesis but look current.

Good timing on reviving the thread, I just finished painting sunday!

Glad everyone likes the idea of black, because that's what I went with.

After a little more bondo an sanding from my my last update, I've finally gotten around to painting it! I used some Krlon brand spray paint and it took me all of 15 minutes overall (which makes me wonder why I didn't do it sooner... :P ).
BTW, Krylon is THE BEST SPRAY PAINT YOU CAN BUY! Don't go with rust-oleum or any off-brands, they don't look as good and aren't as durable. I've actually tested and compared them, I know what I'm talking about ;)
Anyways, did several coats and that was it. To get the paint to go in the sunken screw holes, I just sprayed some on a box and wiped a Q-tip in it, then stuck the Q-tip in the holes.

Now I just need to get my room free of the yellow jacket infestation, and I can start wiring! :D

@ FanBoy: Sorry, this is gonna be a one time thing. It's pretty hard to make, and I don't even know if it will all work when it's put together.

Man does that look like you used a Game Gear for the templet. I'm not complaining or puting it down, just I guess I had it in my head (or if you mentioned this before it fell out) that you were going to use a Nomad. Really looks good, keep us updated.

Looks great, G! You're on FIRE lately. Can't wait to see the final product! :D

Oh, and about Krylon Fusion; I've used it on all my portables and loved it! However, I've noticed it's rather.....sticky. :x I don't know if it's the fact that I use the glossy kind over the flat or not, though; I see you've used the flat kind instead of the glossy, and it looks amazing! Is it less sticky, or for that matter, sticky at all? Thanks! :)
