Ok I won't be that lame. I think this topic should be re-named to "Sony's 32nd lie."

The HD-DVD drive isnt needed. I dont see why game companies are pouring millions into all these gimmicks for thier consoles.

why 32? why not 320th lol. I may be a fan of the PS3 and I like Sony products, but I can't deny that they have told a lot of lies, even if I don't agree that this specific one should be called a LIE, I think it was more of an intentional lack of clarity, to maybe sway some less knowledgable possible consumors, I can take humor in the fact that Sony does lie quite a bit.

Because they want people to not only game on the machines but build their whole entertainment center around it. They kind of started this with the PlaySation and Saturn, both had cards that alowed you to watch VCDs (Dreamcast could playback stock). They really pushed it with the PS2 and Xbox, both had the ablity to play DVD movies, music cds and the Xbox could save your music to it's hard drive. Now they're pushing further with the new optical formats.

Problem is that with the Xbox 360's HD-DVD addon not being used for games, or at the least not publicly mentioned, why bother buying it? I have to side with Sony on the fact that you will have games that have the potental of being 7 times bigger then the most advanced PS2 game.

But more to the point the reason Sony included the HD-DVD drive for the Xbox is that if you have the HD-DVD drive it's more comparible to the Blue-Ray (standard) PS3. So I guess Sony fell into the "doomed if you do, doomed if you don't" situations when comparing the PS3 and Xbox 360.

You still end up with what I mentioned earlier about comparing either the 360 or the Wii to the PS3. That is that the PS3 is a deticated gaming computer, it's more a computer then a gaming station, and you can't really fairly compare that to video game console.

Now even George Forman Grills have the iPod look. It looks nice, but shiny looks like crap at the first fingerprint. Just don't touch it and you'll be fine.

If we're going to talk about shape. I'd put it this way:

Xbox 360-
Likey- Decent size, accessable.
No me likey- Looks like an elongated hourglass. Can't be too near to other stuff (even a TV).

PS3:
Likey- Overall the best looking one. Smooth and with well-placed ports.
No me likey- Large, too many ports (especially USB), will lose visual appeal after play due to melting into pile of crap.

Wii-
Likey- Really small, shiny, and can be put virtually anywhere.
No me likey- Apparently needs some kind of stand for vertical placement; I'm all too sure this must be bought seperately. The accessory flap on top I don't like in general: Gamecube controllers will have to go there and that poses too much of a risk of pulling the Wii over when it's vertical.
