I dont think you're supposed to be able to save the videos

I swear there used to be a "save as" function but it was removed a while ago

Go to the video that you want to download.
View the page's source.
Do a search for player2.swf
After that, there will be a long code. Put that code at the end of this url: http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=
Then try pasting it into your browser or download manager. It should save the file, then just add .FLV to the filename and you're done.

If you need it in another format, there are plenty of free programs to convert the FLV into something else.

http://www.keepvid.com

Paste the URL of the video's page (for example http://youtube.com/watch?v=pp1m_RBPeo8 ) into the box, select "YouTube", and click "Download".

If you're using Firefox and GreaseMonkey, there's a user script that can add a download link to the top of the page, but for some reason it doesn't work for me anymore.

You will need to play the videos with Media Player Classic or VLC, because they're .flv files. (oh right remember to save the fiels as [something].flv, NOT .htm!
