could some one please tell me what is wrong...

I hooked the 7805 reg. back up to the snes, with all the stuff in bens book removed, have the battery and the tv hooked up, but it still won't work, the regulator hets hot so I now that the battery works but I still don't understand what is wrong, could someone please help me out...?

i think your power is wired wrong.. check that out

I think he is right, it looks like it just shorts the battery at the switch.

also dont put ground in at that spot, put it into the grounding strips

you should only connect the - wire of the battery to the switch

Well, assuming he has a switch with 2 contacts per position, and the gournd and positive wires are hooked up without contacting each other, the switch should work fine.

But are you sure you hooked up the ground to the right spot? Are the capacitors removed? Can you take some pictures?

well, i think i might have fried it, or only a useless capacitator, because tere was smoke, i did get it to run of batteries, but there was no sound, so I did the jump the input to the output to get sound and it didnt, work again, after a little experimenting, It started to smoke so I had to cut the battery thing so it would stop, but I will chek to see if i can hook the ground up to the hole in the middle of where the 7805 was... I hope I didn't fry the cpu...

edit: oh yeah, would runnig a nine volt battery on the psone screen,(I am only usint the 7805 from it, ) do something bad...

Sounds like the power shorted. Clean it, and make sure it isn't touchinga nything that might ahve shorted it.

It smoked at a black thing right above the 7805 holes, do you mean to remove it ?

edit: now it sort of flashes on the screen when I turn it on, what does that mean?

like i said dont put ground in there, put it into the grounding strips, and a 9 volt battery straight into the screen will indeed copulate it up

I think I forgot to say but the ground is now at the grounding strips, will a 7.2 volt battery stop the blinking screen? I will make a diagram of what I have now soon...

9.6v battery to a PSOne screen=not a good idea.

just a question, will the psone screen work with a 9.6v battery, or will it just short out the screen, I am going to radio shack so I need to know if the problem is within the battery.

It's not a problem with the battery, 9.6v is just simply not a safe operating voltage for the PSOne screen; it won't fry, but anything higher than 9v starts to send it out of whack, ie inverting colors, blinking screen, etc.

so that must be the problem, that must also be why I got the snes to work with the 7805 reconnected that was on the snes before! I will try a 7.2 v battery when I get one...
