.rar extention

I downloaded something of mine, but it's as a file with a .rar extention. I read that these are some kind of compressed file, but nothing on my computer seems to be able to do anything with it. Is there a program that un-rar-ifies it for me?

It's called WinRar, Google it. Free to download and quite small too.

It turns out that the file I needed to uncompress was corrupt anyway. Sheesh.

Use 7zip.

Yes, 7zip does have great compatibility of a wide range of compression formats. Just remember to unassociate it w/ *.zip when installing.
