anyway, I'm just camping out for one. I'll go to some obscure Best Buy or something and just wait therefor a number of hours to make sure I can get one

With all the pre-ordering going on, someone should make a poll. If a poll was made like this:
What did you preorder?

we could have a view at which console is more popular

For people who have done it before, where's the best place to show up 6 hours early to get a console?

Just go to whichever stores that don't primarily sell video games: Toys R' Us, Circuit City, Wal-mart, K-Mart, Target.

But I really don't think that you'll have to camp out. Maybe at Best Buy, but if you want to get the console on launch day without any difficulties, don't go to big-named electronics and video game stores.

I agree with Ben, in that I don't think it will be too hard to get one on launch day, due to the numerous amounts of units that will be available. I'm sure that places like Target and K-mart will have them in stock for a while, because video games aren't their primary market, and most people would rather go to Best Buy and Gamestop to buy their games. Just go to stores that aren't always bustling with customers and you should be able to find one without any problems.

On a side note: is there an official list of which stores will be getting Wiis? I just naturally assumed that K-Mart and such other stores would also be getting a few units in, so I apologize if it turns out that they aren't.

Oh boy. I went to EB Games right after school on Friday, they said they sold out preorders 5 minutes after opening that morning. And just great, now I have a $250 Gift card that's never going to be used.

I can't camp cause it comes out on a friday over here. I wish school would drop out that day. Or at least the first 2 hours!

Well, I called all the Gamestops and EB Games within a 25 mile radius. They were all sold out. I asked one and they said they only had 12 units available for preorder.

Klef, I'm glad it comes out on a Sunday; that way it's easier to convince the parents (I'm 15.) to let me camp out. If it were coming out during the week, I'd be SOL.
