So true. I tried getting an old PC for MAME, but the only ones they got are too weak and waay overpriced. Ah well.

And appareantly (sp.) combat carts around here are just as rare as everywhere else. (meaning not at all, excuse my poor attempt at sarcasm.)

Not even the people at the monthly computer show at Gibraltar try and pass that off. Infact there was a lady at the last one I was at who was selling just the CPU for $1. And I do hate it, I don't go offen to Salvation Army/Purple Rose/Thrift but they don't seem to have any computer, even worth messing around.

Ya I acctually understand what you all mean about mental patients working the tills, I was at this store up here that was called game city and in their boxes of old snes games, when suddenly I like found the holy grail of games, chrono trigger, insert heavenly choir music here,. it was complete with the box and everything. Anyways, I took it up to the till exepecting to dish out butt loads of cash, that I would be willing to spend because the chances of me seeing that game ever again are like three trillion to one, so I bring it up there expecting her to look into her book and say " that'll be $265.95" , but no instead she just sits there reading her magazine, and was like " is that a sega game " as i replied " uhhh no ", she then preceded to give a quick glance and say "$29.95"I quickly forked out the cash with great haste and ran , as if I had just stole somthing.
anyways thats my little experiance that makes me agree with the " cashiers are all dumb " kinda idea, not that im complaining.

I had a similiar experience but it was with copy of Terranigma, cart only though... I though they would ask like 15â‚¬ but instead it was 3â‚¬!

It really is insane what they try to charge you for computer stuff there. I was in the Goodwill near Dearborne the other day (why I was out that far I forget) and not a single PC in there was under $100.

By the way, Sparkfist, do you know of any good alternative shops/stores/etc. for random gaming and hardware crap? I only ask because we live in nearly the same area, and I can never seem to find any good stores of the sort...

I put a GOAC in the back of the girl toys,i came back the next day and it was still there,but it was only 10$.

The best way to get stuff cheap is when somebody comes in to sell their stuff for credit. Just buy it directly off them. They'll most likely sell at a lower price than the actual store and are likely to get along wiht you because you'll pay in cash instead of stupid credit.

You should've seen how pissed the clerk got when someone was going to sell Goldeneye 64 until I offered to buy directly from them in cash. They handed it over for $2! And to think if I was a minute later I'd have to pay $20-$30 to get it from the store.

I put all my stuff I'm trying to "reserve" in this stupid orange crockpot with a huge dent in the lid and a cut power cord, It has power ranger stickers all over it too. No one would ever buy it, so I use it as a "lay-a-way" bin.

The same way I got a box of N64 stuff. Even had Halo 2 in there, obviously not for N64 though.

In regards to the 61 cent idea, and easier way to do that is take the price sticker off a cheaper item and stick it on there, i mean its not like most Thrift stores have barcode scanners

You'd be surprised how often this works
