Also, nice OsX-bashing. Real non-microsoft-fanboyism there.

Glad to know the comments aren't falling on deaf ears.Meh wrote:All Hail Jones!.
That's pretty much the extent of it, except that I don't think the Wii is anywhere near the Virtual Boy in terms of being Nintendo's biggest gaffe. That said, it's still a pretty big mistake nonetheless.Sparkfist wrote:Ok lets see if I'm getting the feel of this podcast right? Xbox 360 is a decent console, it's short comings are made up by the Xbox-live online support. Sony's PS3 is just an over priced waste of time. And the Wii is NIntendo's biggest joke. Is that right?
I have to admitt I do like to listen to you guys, you have valid points for whatever you say. I'm really loving the intros though, the intro to episode 3 was my favorite. "The PlayStation3 has a multitude of accessories and UNLIMITED POWER!!!" I love it.
Glad to know you're enjoying the podcasts. It sounds like you're enjoying the Intros as much as we enjoy making them! Episode 3 is my personal favorite as well. My favorite part is the Gamecube/Wii dialog that mimics the Vader/Luke dialog from Empire. It still cracks me up everytime I hear it.

I dunno, I was pretty happy with Ep 4's intro. Editing wise the intros take longer than the podcast (recording and editing) itself, but I think it's worth it. Total time for everything is about 4-6 hours.
For "Police Files: Mario Squad" we wrote it in about 30 minutes and recorded all the lines in about another 30. Again, the editing is the killer.
As for our opinions and fanboyism, well, we're not whitewashing stuff, we're pretty blatent with our opinions. The Windows XP thing was a jab at Apple, not Nintendo.
Jones, maybe we should even have a SPECIAL podcast the day after we play a Wii at Gamestop (shockingly enough, neither of us is buying one) I'm sure after all the bashing people will want to know what we think. I'm pretty sure what my opinion will be (more impressed but not convinced) but still, we'll see.

I see they are supposed to be at Gamestop pre-launch although only a mid-November timeframe has been given. Hopefully we'll be able to get our first impresiion out to all of you in benheck land prior to launch. Time will tell!

While I disagree with you regarding OS fanboyism (even my grandma knows Windows is buggy and insecure), I think you're dead-on with the Wii commentary. To me, the Wii is just a Gamecube outfitted with a Power Glove.
I'd continue, but that would derail the topic and the fanboys would probably kill me. Instead I'll throw together another paper and link to it later.

Maybe they'll bring out a Wii-mote Spatula and Burger Time 3-D as well. I'm sure there would be lines around the block for that.

Windows has it's fair share of bugs and is by no means a perfect OS. For the most part it does what it needs to do very well. It creates a bridge between the home computing and Corporate computing worlds. This is something that neither Apple, nor the Linux flavors have been able to effectively accomplish as of yet. Remember AppleTalk? Yeah, I didn't think so.bicostp wrote:While I disagree with you regarding OS fanboyism (even my grandma knows Windows is buggy and insecure), I think you're dead-on with the Wii commentary. All the OS's have there place, it just so happens that Windows may not be the best, but it has the broadest appeal and that's why it is so prevalent. I don't think it's perfect, but it does what I need it to do.
This is kinda like the console debate. The 360 isn't the most powerful system, but I think it will appeal to the widest range of people. The PS3 will be like Linux (although more popular) and the Wii will fill the Apple role. The final standings will be closer than the current state of affairs in the OS world, but the roles will be similar.
Watch out for those fanboys!
P.S. - There are some Microsoft things I don't care for. I'm not a fan of Frontpage and I HATE Access!

I will have to check this out when I get home. We're blocking the site here at work. If I were feeling squirrely I could unblock the site, but then all of those evil end users would have access to it. And what fun would that be?jeroen wrote:Ask and you shall receive.
