http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://benheck.com that site right there is a web site that is keeping in its data tons of websites. That link is the one to benheck. But I think its fun just to put in random sites and rember them. And you can put your own in so there kept forever.

I guess fair use really goes pretty so far, but it's still a scary prospect.

Yes, archive.org kicks butt. You can download a ton of videos in high quality MPEG-2 format, everything from Duck and Cover to The COmputer Chronicles, even some really old Looney Tunes and Popeye cartoons! (Of course everything there is public domain.)

You do know state and federal governments have used archive.org's internet archive to find evidence against criminals, right?

Yeah I love Archive.org, when Gundam Project died it what the only place it possible to view the information it had. I was also able to find an old story writing tool using archive.

As for legality, you could have a site removed from their database if you request it. But most sites likely like the fact you can have a public backup.
