TV cable amplifiers

Post by timmeh87 »

ok. so i have my cable split 4 ways rright now, the first 3.5db tap goes to my modem, and the other two, 7.5db ones go to my tv and other tv, and then finally, one of THOSE gets splits two ways again so the computer can get hooked up.

the problem (perhaps obviously) is that the signal is too weak for my tv or comptuer (lower channels look fuzzy), and im thinking that even my modem would benefit from some more signal strength.

so im looking for reccomendations for a cable amplifier, advice on how to use or not use them, and any other realated anecdotes.

I also have a simple splitter, and notice that many of the channels lower than 11 are fuzzy. My internet spped is 2% lower than my neighbors (But upload a whole whopping 49% higher :D )

How could i fix the tv issue, as im not worried about the internet.

Look on TI or Fairchild Semi. They probably have something that you could use to amplify the signal (and get it for free too! :D )

You could use one of these:

I have one, and it works quite well.
