And even though they are just theorys, they are still taught in school as something that actually happened!
I think that all the theorys should be taught and people should decide what to believe for themselves.

actually, in my biology class the teacher said that we were learning the theory of evolution, and although creationism is a valid theory aswell, it was not going to be covered in the class because of it's lack of scientific evidence.

that reminds me, there was one guy in my English class. Nice guy, pretty diehard Christian. When we had to do an English speach, he did his on saying that there should be a class that taught creationism. One example he had was him saying that he took a test after learning about evolution, and still believed that God created the earth. When asked how the world was created he told the teacher he knew what he was looking for, and he still wrote the creatonism theory. The teacher didn't give him points for it, and that kinda pissed me off. Nonreligious beliefs shouldn't be forced on you to get a good grade.

Well, this is better than the POLITICAL DEBATE at least....

This is something I think about at times.... creation and existence, etc. I think the interesting thing to note is that existence, from our frame of reference, doesn't really make sense at all. In my opinion the biggest thing keeping us (humans) from understanding the operations of the universe is our addiction to the concept of TIME.

As humans we see everything from the POV as having a beginning and end... High school, college, marriage, life, GTA:SA. They all begin and then end. Our fascination with the concept of TIME (which is just an observation of the rate at which things rotate around each other) alters our view and perhaps even keeps from from grasping certain concepts that we would not accept because of our strict adherence to TIME.

Even the Big Bang theory is based off TIME. This theory started with the observation that the universe is expanding. Thus, in the past (time again) it must have been smaller. And before that (even more in the part, more TIME) it must have been a "singularity" an infinitely dense particle of matter containing all the mass of the universe. Which then EXPLODED and over TIME (the dreaded TIME again!) became the universe we know.

Now I'm not saying this is true or untrue, but it's all based off TIME. Perhaps the universe (or whatever's beyond it) isn't based off time at all, and therefore always has and always will be... making the idea of a "beginning" or "end" a moot point. We may think this to be absurd, but we're the ones waking up each day to a time-based alarm clock, eating at a time-based noon lunch, and opening presents at a time-based Christmas. We're so engrained with the notion of time how could we possibly think otherwise? Like it or not, our brains are hard-wired in many ways.

Who knows, maybe black holes suck all that matter into a singularity which then exceeds the laws of physics (ha!) of a dimension and creates a new dimension/existence and a new black hole. It's really hard to say...

All we really have is ourselves. We walk around each day and have the ability to observe our surroundings, think about them, react to them and have a beer. When it really comes down to it, the universe exists because we can perceive it. Beyond that... who knows?

As for me... well, time for another beer!

All I can say is that we percieve time in a linear fashion, even if TIME (Oh no...) itself is not linear...

I totally agree with the Ben, Why is tomorrow Wendsday and not Sunday? Because the Our laws of time and the days of the week say that there are 60 min. in an hour, 24 hours in a day and Wensday comes after Tuesday. I mean what is our paper (U.S.) currency really worth? It's just paper. A five dollar bill is worth 500 pennies because our Society says it is. If our econommy had a total melt down our currency would be worth nothing. Our economy is based upon what we say is right,is right. If I said 1+5=8 many people would say I was wrong because the rules say 1+5=6. These Laws are right because that is the way we were taught to think. - Just something to think about.

Well if you want to change that idea of time is linear to something different. Try that the universe expanse and at a point it will be pulled back into itself back together into one giant black hole that will result in a new big bang and the universe will start all over again. That would mean that time is really in cycles.

As for the consept of time keeping us from understanding things. Wouldnt there be things that we can only understood as a result of having a concept of linear time.

Well, thats a kind of dim view of life. :( I mean if all we have is ourselves then why does anybody else matter? Maybe I would understand this idea better if I drank some beer
I honestly dont know why I would even bother living if I didnt have something to look forward to when I die.

Although Im still trying to figure out what our purpose in life is. Everything we do on earth is so trivial when it comes down to it. Why make portables if we just die and lose everything? To leave the world a better place? The world will end some day and everything we created with it!

I mean why where we created? For amusement? Is God watching a billion little soap operas right now? Or is it something greater? Is this whole universe some little test to find out who should go to heaven and who shouldnt? I guess I'll know someday....

But for now I go on living life like I always do, trying to live for God, and to move out of the house as soon as possible. :)

God created man because, even though he is God, he wanted a freind. That's were Adam came from.
