The Most Simplistic Portable

Well, we have all made portables that were dying to be made (NOAC's) and some that have been made via a warp in the space-time continum (XBOX 360p). Now, for all of us who have made one, tell me which was the most easy for you to make. I'd say either the PSONE or NOAC, NOAC I actually made with remotely NO soldering! Well, how about you?

Aside from rewiring the cartride slot (if required) I'd agree NOAC's are about as easy as it gets.

If we take "ease" to include "success on the first try" and therefore not having to go back and redo anything, I'd say that making an Atari portable was the easiest for me because it's the only time I've wired anything up like this and it worked totally and completely on the first try. Of course, I made the case out of cardboard at the time, but the wiring job was easy enough. But that was all back in the day and I'm more talented now... And I know more... And stuff...

Well, this was the the easiest for me, but that doesn't really count I guess

Other than that, NOAC's fer sure. They're pretty fun too, since they're so small you can do anything you want with them. Next to that, PS1 (unless you do a laser rewire.) and then SNES (because for me the cart slot has to be relocated)

i accidentally made a partially portable genesis because it was so easy. the next day my power went out for about 2 days so it was very nifty timing

I once made something very similar to G-Force's thing, and I ended up shorting it out... But I'm working on a NES Portable and it seems like it's going pretty good... Quite easy, really.

I am gonna go a different way and say psone. The only hard part is wiring the controls to the board directly, really. That is still pretty easy. They are built like tanks, no frying, small, no cartridge slot rewiring, and on top of that, real easy to power. contrary to popular belief, they accept 7.2-36v because they use a 7805.
