I think the best subject line, knowing ben is "LOL I HAVE $3.5k FOR YOU!"

Anyways, not everyone can make their own. That water cooling system is intsense, dude. It would take some serious skill.

Luckily im going hunting with a rich man this weekend, so i'll see if i can barrow $3000....

Hmm. First thing that comes to mind is.."hunting accident."

As for the price Ben's asking. Well, honestly, I don't think it's too much. Think of all the time, testing, retesting, "troubleshooting" and things that went into the original. Especially the overall design process.

Here's my take on it:

For you who have built portables, think of the one that was most difficult for you yet. And then mentally multiply that difficulty by at least 20. Then add to it the fact that you're putting all this work into something that you don't even get to keep. For me that'd be the worst part. The only "fun" part of building the first one (for me) would be just figuring things out and sucessfully completing it. When building a second or third, that tiny bit of fun factor has been reduced to just about nil. The only reason left to do it would be for the money alone. So I'd have to make a large enough profit for it to seem worthwhile.

well, he said it cost about $1,200 to build the whole damn thing, who would have thought that labour and design would be about $2,300?
hell, why dont i just pay him the $2,300 and get nothing out of it?

Well all I can say is if you don't wanna pay $3500 for an Xbox 360 laptop, good luck finding a cheaper one. I think it is most certainly worth the money. I was planning on buy a new 360 pretty soon until I saw this thing. Hell, I would probably pay more for this thing if he was asking more, but then I wouldn't have any money at all...

Damn... for all that work, not including Trial n Error (not that Ben makes any errors).. $3500, worth it IMO.

There are actually two battery packs that will work with the 360 laptop. One weighs 200 pounds and straps to your back. The other comes with its own wheelbarrow.

Actually, all the components, such as the LCD TV, the 360 motherboard, and the other miscellaneous hardware just draw way too much power for battery power to make sense. (I'm assuming it's a few amps.)
