original NES + NOAC = ???

Post by my devastation »

I'm totally new here and I got no expierience in modding game consoles at all.
So I merely have an idea and the key ingredients:

I own an old NES (which is still used) and I got some NOACish game controller with second gamepad and lightgun.

Here's the idea:
I'd like to combine the two things so that if there's no cart inside the NES and you hit the power switch it starts the NOAC mainboard with the built in games.
"What?! Risk your good old NES' life for some crappy NOAC games?" I hear you saying.
Well, the built in games are quite cool. *ehem*

Is there any possibility to do such a thing? Perhaps even easy enough for me to do?

Yes, you can. Without the built in games disabled, wire the cart slot pins to the nes cart slot pins. That is the signal for the built ins. =D

Hmm, i don't actually know how to. It took me days to actually figure out what that controller thingy was.
I got it when i bought some SNES stuff from ebay and the seller forgot to send it. He gave the Controller thingy to me as an excuse for the delay.
I first thought it was some kind of weird third party N64 Controller.
humm... But alright. So it's actually possible...

I don't think that would work, because he'd need a lockout chip!

I don't know if this would work, but why not hardwire the roms into a cart, and just put that in your NES?

A FC Convertor will disable built-in ROMs when inserted since it bridges the connection for disabling.
I don't like forum signatures.

I got plenty of family converters left though, same with rca jacks, tact switches, and 1/8" headphone jacks
