I would assume not, as the bulb runs on a substansionably (is that a word?) higher voltage than the rest of the screen.

Why do you want to run it without the transformer?

Because the tranormer is torn of, but I think it is still functional, ( dumb leds leads broke of and those cost like 15 bucks)

no you need the inverter, that is what gives the ccfl tube its power
