I don't know if many americans know of topgear, but about 2 days ago, Richard Hammond was involved in a Jet Car crash and has suffered Brain Damage.

Oh man that's terrible

, I love Top Gear probably the best car show ever (they don't play it much on basic cable here in the US of A I wish they would). My best wishes to Hammond and his family, here's hoping he makes a successful recovery.

Never heard of the show, but brain damage isn't anything to scoff at.

Just look at Dick Clark, host of New Year's Rockin' Eve and American Bandstand. A couple years ago he had a bad stroke. Last new year's he talked, but was all slurred. I thikn he was at the Emmy awards this year, doing OK, sounding less slurred, and he actually made an on-camera appearance! There's hope yet for ol' Richard...

That show is pretty cool. That really sucks, hopefully the brain damage isn't too bad. This is a really bad time to be a famous person doing dangerous stuff, they are always getting hurt or killed recently.

Dang... And here I thought this was a happy thread before clicking.
I'm a fan of the show. A friend of my dads burns them to CD for me and him, and we watch them when we can. Fun show! I love the humor, and the neat stuff they get to do. And of course the cars are a neat side dish.
Heh... I loved the one where they went RV-ing, or as they called it "caravaning". And BURNED UP the camper! I was on the floor laughing...

Hope he gets better and its not very severe. The guy seemed to have a real love for life, it would be a shame for someone like that to lose it.

He was, he was fired about 2 weeks ago.

Yep, I remember that, James just stood about doing nothing while richard and jeremy tried to beat it out and hence made it worse.
