Well, I know that earlier in the days of mac and pc the macs were better for media authoring, although now with most good media software on both machines, that's not the case.
It's easier to upgrade PCs (less restrictions, mostly lower cost) though. PCs are still better for gaming though (actually, windows OS on PC).

Well with Macs you have better security, no bsod, supports the best audio and video production software (Intel Macs have to use Rosetta stone for now).

As far as I can tell you if you went with say the new Power Mac, you can throw on BootCamp and XP to play games. And really it's the most cutomizable Mac Apple has released, so if you need to you can add a fair amount of extra stuff to it, if or as you need it.

PC is good for compatibility... lots and lots of compatibility. Mac is good for pretty much everything else. And nobody is allowed to disagree unless they have used OS X for a total of 12 hours or more... you really need to give it a try to know what I'm talking about.

As my neighbor said, the Mac is like the metric system... it takes a little getting used to, but it makes a lot more sense when you get to know it.

It really depends what you want. Each system has some things the other doesn't.

Like how apple has a plug that connects by magnets so when you trip over the power cord your computer does get boo boo's and achies.

Macs are not more expensive, Apple just doesn't offer crappy low-end computers. If you compare identically equipped machines from Apple and Dell, Apple is cheaper not only in consumer-line laptops and such, but also in higher-end professional computers. They might have been more expensive while they running PowerPC hardware, but now that they are running the same architecture, so the prices are comparable.

Second, why not get a Mac if they can run both Windows and Mac OS and, even better, they can be cheaper than the Windows-only alternatives? I can personally vouch for the stability or Parallels and Boot Camp. I used Boot Camp near it's initial release and at the time it supported almost everything except built in iSight and had almost full peripheral support, both of which have since been fixed. although Boot Camp is great, I must say the non-first-party alternative is much more convenient. I used Parallels today for the first time and it was absolutely amazing. It boot into a virtual window (it can also do full screen) and it ran with no problems at all, no speed decrease compared to Boot Camp. The fast user-switching between Windows XP and Mac OS X was alwost instant.

So with support for both platforms, why not get a Mac? (Not to mention they look SOO much better  )

Any Intel-based Mac can run Parallels or Boot Camp. Apple just recently finished their transition to Intel, so their entire product line is now Intel-based. So as long as you're buying a newer Mac (NOT an iBook, Powerbook, PowerMac, or any other PowerPC based computers) then it will be able to run Windows just as a PC would (not to mention, Parallels just recently added Vista support, Boot Camp has it "unsupported", but it works anyway).

So it looks like a great time to buy some Apple stock....

Just get any PC (Macs are PC's. Apple's "PC vs. Mac" advertising campaign is retarded) w/ a non-AMD Intel x86 processor (since not much AMD processors have SSE3) & install OSX & Windows XP (or a beta version of Vista) & decide for yourself. (I've never used OSX yet, but since it's Unix-based, it probably has a wider software library than people think...)
