Alternative to 3-4 White LED's

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Alternative to 3-4 White LED's

Hey Im new here so if this has already been discussed then sorry to make a new thread about it,
I was just thinking, with the LED's in the corners of the screen, it tends to leave the middle of the screen darker, and I was wondering if this was a good idea, to have a flat pannle LED that would cover the whole of the back of the screen evenly

That looks to me like a row of LEDs on the bottom. A nice alternative is to leave the CCRT in. Or invent a new solution!

Yeah, looks like 12 LEDs on the bottom and a diffusion layer (which the psone LCD has, it's just not the best)
