Ok, so if you're 13, then SS is OBVIOUSLY 3. Thus, average is still 8 :D
Learn about exaggeration, they teach it in 3rd grade. Which you may not have reached yet, I understand how hard it is for you. (NOTE TO SELF: disregard all posts from now on when IQ of posters <0) Once again, I apologize for inturupting, continue with the mindless posting until a person like SS gets 1000 posts and seems less of a noob.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

Image I thought that it looked pretty cool, decided to put it up. It's based off the Dreamcast and Saturn 3d controller.

I keep forgetting this is a console and not a handheld. I was about to have a go at you for picking a bad processor till I remembered that :P

What would this thing be called? I came up with Project 3D X. I asked my brother what he had in mind and he came up with project war-cry. I'm all for whatever this console is called, these are just some ideas. Oh and at the other forum I placed a reply about something else, and I'll get back to that.

Oh, you mods and your legal liability worry-mongering.

Anyways, it always interests me when homebreweries start up and start churning out their own stuff, however, I question the experience of you guys and the amount of experience you have. First of all, a console that runs games made by gamemaker will have to have a version of windows as I believe that they export windows executable files (If you have the type of gamemaker program I assume you're talking about). And if it's running windows, and running off of a laptop processor and other PC parts, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you aren't building a console, you're building a PC designed to run games (or a gaming PC). Unless, you are dedicating this machine to solely run games. Which means, that it probably won't have windows, as windows slows down a console horribly.

For example, have you ever noticed that game consoles are pretty low on power in comparison with PC's? That;s because, when a system is designed to do one thing, it doesn't have all of this crap running in the background. And, yes, windows is all that crap that I am referring to.

So, if you're going to make an actual console, you will probably have to make it either *nix based or write your own firmware that simply automatically boots from your media.. Also, I'm afraid, game maker is more than likely not an option. Perhaps you could pick up a book on C, C++, or even Basic or Assembly.

I am not shooting down your idea. I am, however, suggesting that you revise the direction you are taking with this project.

All great suggestions . And i know the program you were leaning towards not being used was game maker... obviously i will not be useing this program. And yes i am somewhat accustomed to C++ programing. probably because i have every book writen on it in the history of time. But the results of that kind of programing are well kind of lower grade. But i am still veary new to this kinda stuff. So any help on this or anybody willing to teach me more , would be greatly appreciated. And last . Yes I will be creating a new thread.. maybe under a code name, but anyways I will be creaing the new thread when i get the cpu and can finaly post some pictures. :o

I honestly don't see how you could pull off using a laptop processor for this. I doubt that even with all of the members of this forum working on it that it will ever be done. The BB is taking a much more realistic route in using a processor that is meant to be used for this stuff.

Apparently, he's taking a processor from some other component, and trying to 'infuse' it into a system. I'm 14 and can't program an ENTIRE motherboard. Sure, you have a processor, but you need to program it and such...like if I buy an Athlon processor...there it is. I need motherboard, good luck on making/finding one.
