I thought I'd start a topic for people to discuss the content from Ep. 3 if they so choose.

Do you agree or disagree with us? Why or why not? Or just say any other nonsense associated with the podcast here.

Maybe we can even be civil about it.

Great Podcast guys. I am beginning to see your point about Wii. At first I was really hyped, but the more I hear, the less excited I get. I may just stick with my 360.

Glad you enjoyed the podcast.

Hopefully we can continue to keep them entertaining while discussing interesting subject matter.

I, like you, already have a 360 so I see no reason to buy either the Wii or the PS3 right away. Even if the Wii was $100 and the PS3 was $300 I wouldn't buy one right away simply because I've already got the 360. Why bring another system into my home so soon? Doesn't make sense.

For the people who haven't bought a 360 it becomes a more interesting proposition as they either haven't decided yet, or are merely waiting for their system of choice to come out. I think a lot of people fall into the "haven't decided" camp and there are a number of variables that will factor in the choices people make this holiday season. Many of which were discussed in the podcast.

I'm just happy, because I've made my choice which means I don't have to worry about whether or not what I want to buy will be in stock when I choose to go get it. I don't envy anyone who is dead set on getting a PS3. It'll be a combination of a lot of waiting and luck that determines who gets those. The Wii people will be more fortunate as it sounds like there will be more than enough of them to go around.

For people like the two of us, it should be free entertainment though. We can kick back and see how things play out over the next few months.

Should be a good time.

Hey if you can survive on a 19GB PC hard drive then by all means do so! It's the same argument I had for the 360 hard drive. If you know what your boundaries are with the system you can quite easily work within them as I am sure you have found with your PC.

If I didn't have some fairly high hard disk cost games on my PC 20GB would probably suit me just fine as well.

Glad you got a kick out of the Star Wars Intro. Ben and I had a lot of fun doing it. We just sat around for about an hour and came up with ideas on what we could use in relation to the "Console Wars". I think it turned out fairly amusing.

It's not so much as console wars when you have only two people that never stop bailing on the Wii with no other opinions.

One question: is this appropriate to listen to around my mom and little brothers (IE swearing, nasty talk, etc. ) im assuming not, because they usually arent, just wondering though.

That's the price of the Wii being different. The 360 we've already played so we can speak definitively about it. The PS3 will be a similar, although more powerful system, but with essentially the same controller so we can have a bit more perspective. The Wii is a wild card and Nintendo has failed to convince Ben or I of it's benefits.

I watched a video of people playing it hands on today with a variety of different games and, as I've said before, I understand the concept of it, but when brought into the real world I just don't see it working. There was a guy playing the new Marvel: Ultimate Alliance game and he was controlling the game quite nicely with the controller, but he was literally making rapid circles in the air with the controller to do a spinning attack and thrusting the controller for other attacks. Again, in concept this seems great, but I played the predecessors of this game (the 2 excellent X-Men Legends games) for a couple hours at a time. I can't see playing this game for more than 20 minutes when you're having to wave your arm around like that. In other games, like bowling and baseball, I can see it being more effective, because you're not constantly doing something. So you can rest a little as you play.

In addition, every time I see people playing this thing they're standing up. Who does this at home I ask? I actually tried this yesterday just for the heck of it and it didn't work for me. Plus, you can have up to 4 people playing this thing at a time. Take those 4 people and put them in an average-size living room in an average home with enough room for them to be able to do the motions with the controller without smacking into each other. Can this happen? Maybe. Is it likely? Not so much. Then again maybe most people are like me and they don't typically have 4 people playing a game at once. This is one of the selling points for the Wii though, so it deserves to be thought about.

In all honesty I don't mean to bash the Wii. I'm just looking at it logically. Those of you who love Nintendo will of course give it a shot, and I don't blame you in the least. You should give it a shot and I hope when you do, you enjoy it.

Me, I'm a typical lazy ass American who wants to relax when he plays video games. This entails sitting down with a controller in my chair of choice and not moving for a couple of hours other than the necessary pit stops at the bathroom or refrigerator if I can help it.

The Wii just seems a lot like work to me and I think the majority of video game console shoppers will agree. That's my 2 cents.

To my recollection it's a pretty PG podcast. I know there are no f-bombs if that's your primary concern. Or as others have said, wear headphones.

Well Jones, I haven't watched the video you linked to, but I have watched the long-ass one at IGN and this one, plus some others I can't remember the location of. Between all these videos and your podcasts, I've decided not to get a Wii right away, if at all. I'm really not impressed enough yet. I don't have a 360, so I might just end up getting one of those this holiday season. Because I sure as hell know I'm not shelling out for a PS3. Partly because I have always hated the design of the dual-shock. And then of course because of the price.

This time last year, I figured I'd want a Revolution (heh) or PS3, but never a 360. It's funny how things can change.

You have to admit, with our podcast / next gen opinions, they're are least DIFFERENT from most sites on the internet.

We bag on the Wii because so many other sites praise it. SOMEBODY has to have a different opinion, and that's us. For every Ying there's a Yang. Or whatever.
