For launch games scroll down Seriously I don't care if the wii is in third place I still want to get one and play it... I really just can't wait for it the thing is going to be amazing for me and that's all I care about.
The games look amazing and people who went to e3 said they were amazing though if you care about that kind of stuff...

That is a very good point, I have so much adrenaline in my system after a halo party that I could do almost any physical task. But it you aim with the controller, swinging might not be good for your chances of winning.
"Why are people going to buy a $250 machine with a (guessing) 800 mHZ CPU and a wand when for $50 more then can get a screaming fast tri-core Xbox 360 with 5 times the RAM that plays all the latest games and top franchises?"
What? and the Wii doesn't have its share of latest games? Do you define "latest games" by its graphical ability or by other aspects it can offer? Top franchises? Does not Nintendo have any?
Anyhoo, people are female of the dog species about the price, but I have this to say: Go ahead and buy the real consoles/carts. (I'm not criticizing anyone.) Yes, games at Funcoland and eBay WILL most likely be cheaper (with the exception of rare titles, and you can say that the high VC prices subsidize those), but the fact is, we won't have to do the searching for the games: Nintendo is putting them up, and we can download from an infinite supply. No worries about availability count, HIGH prices for RARE games, or condition. If you disagree with it, all right; just get the real hardware/software. I'll be happy when I can buy some harder-to-find games for much less than the eBay market demands.
"The Nintendo stradegy will work everywhere except in America where most people dont give things a chance."
If you go with the direct yen convertion for VC games its 3 for NES, 5 for SNES and 8 for 64. So no NES games aren't going to be $10. The pricing is console specific, and quite fair. $10(no tax) is a steal for 64 games.
i was expecting the $250 price tag. nintendo can't keep $200 launch price for 20 years of consoles with inflation making them cheaper and cheaper, it had to go up sometime. i agree about the VC prices, they're a rip off. but of course you could probably get some rare or hard to find games you couldn't as easily get on a cartridge. i think i'll stick with older consoles for that and leave VC as a last resort. i think the wiimote could be pretty fun, i'll give it a shot and hopefully it will be fun and stay fun. duck hunt didn't get old . i usually don't get new stuff so what i play is usually a generation behind (unless i get it free like PS2 and GC) so the under-powered-ness of wii isn't a big deal with me.

Please remind me again why this is worth almost as much as an Xbox 360?

Because it's different and people want something new to try out if it sucks all well you win if it doesn't then it doesn't and I won't laugh in anyones face because all we can do right now is predict.
Why don't we just wait and see, Ben? You always support your Xbox 360 when you haven't tried Wii. Sure, you're not convinced, so just calm down everyone until it comes out, then thrash it all you want. And you people would surprised that graphics aren't everything.
Wii: Will get it. Like Nintendo. It's the cheapest.
360: Might buy it later.
PS3: Naw, but maybe if the price goes down later.
Almost the same as me. I plan on getting Wii at launch and Xbox 360 when the price drops at least $100 so I can get the good one for $300.
PS3: No. Not until it has better games, and costs <=$300. Which won't happen for a while. I'll probably do what I did with PS2 this gen (which was purely for money reasons) and get it cheap from a friend after he buys his PS4 or is about to.
