I would try just using a thumbdrive first. if that doesn't work, then it's a scam.sandman2866 wrote:I saw somthing on the google when i was searching for hardrives for slim ps2s its this harddrive u plug into the usb port I was wondering if thats a scam or not and if i could format an mp3 player or thumb drive to work as a hardrive

Oddly enough I saw something just like this at BestBuy a week or so ago. The new ActionReplay/GameShark (don't remember which) it came with a USB thumb drive rather then a memory card for loading the games on. So apperantly you can do it. You just need to find out what file system it uses and how to read that on your computer.

Best thing I can think to do if you want to try it out is by the item. The price was about $45 maybe $10 more. You might get the software with the CD to (re)format the thumb drive, so you could do it to either a larger one you own or whatevere.
