Post by ganonbanned »

Im starting to get into Nintendo DS homebrewing, can someone reccomend some good sites/games? I already have marked on favorites: DoomDS, quakeDS, and hexen and hereticDS. according to my friend, someone is also working on a multiplayer HaloDS. does anyone have any info on this? what are some sights? also, what is firm ware and does the ds get it?

thanks,

Hey, I own a PSP and a DS, the psp has almost no good UMD games, but the easiest (and best) homebrew around for a handheld right now. The DS is too expensive, you need to buy a gba flash cart at the very least, and you still have crappy homebrew choices.

Thats still less than getting a PSP... And PSP needs memory sticks, and, like you said, has few good games. The DS, though, has many more good games.

Some great sources:
ndshb.com
forum.gbadev.org

Try beup for MSN, and DSAIM for AIM on the go. There are also some great homebrew games for DS.

Have fun!

Oh and for PSP, Loco Roco is very good, I am using devhooked 2.71 to play it!

Err, Loco Roco? I've heard of it, but it's a wee bit too crazy for my tastes.

My favorite site for that kind of thing

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?catego ... ts_id=8970&

About that thing, can it just do movies and the other thing it says? or could you run the homebrew apps and such from it. With that plus the 1 gig SD thats pretty cheap if you already own a DS.

That looks nice for the price. 4 gigs?

It's not made by nintendo, so no. The nintendo one has a mod out for it so you can use it as a gba flash cart.

So can it play home brews?

also what about HaloDS? if microsoft doesnt make a portable system, I think they should make one for the DS.

Ok,
1) It's really bugging me. stop saying homebrews or home brews. It's homebrew
2) Yes, there's a firmware mod. Ask and someone probably has it, I'll look.
3) NO HALO ON DS. EVER. it's an exclusive, microsoft would never give that up.

And if someone else made Halo for DS, it would be nowhere near xbox graphics, more like 007 for N64. A homebrew multiplayer FPS would be pretty cool.
