Bad Words - Bad People

I didn't think I needed to say this, but I guess I do. Here's a list of words you are not allowed to use:

-gay
-retarded
-jesus/christ
-*censor-bypassing words*

If you can't post without them, we don't need to have you post and we won't let you, mmm-kay? locked, because there is no discussing this. It is and will be. Period.

I'm rethinking the lock on this and got a smashing idea. As stated above, I locked this so as to avoid complaints that would probably end in bans. But I'm willing to unlock if the only posts are suggestions for words to be added. So here we goes, unlockorizing....

I have a question; why were Jesus and Christ banned? I am not trying to lead a crusade, I am just wondering why.

Maybe he is talking about using them in the way that is offensive to some people, like me. A total ban of it would prevent those that don't think its offensive from offending others.

I dont get why people are offended by jesus/christ. me being catholic, I dont find it offensive at all. I say it all the time.

i have a suggestion. people sometimes accidentally let words slip (like retarded, i hear people say it all the time) so it'd only be fair if they were censored like the real illegal ones

I'm a Roman Catholic, and I find it offensive when someone says "Jesus Christ!", it's basically like screaming "copulate YOU!" right in my face.
Edit: "screw"? what happened to 'copulate'

Actually that's using God's name in vain so yeah it's against the Ten Commandments.

Thats what I think. You're one of the few people I know that consider it offensive and aren't LDS (and at school half the people saying it are LDS

). I say if its offensive to some, it shouldn't be said, unless its something really stupid (like finding pNES offesive, its meaningless if you don't think of it sick (but everyone does)).

Mostly for our "believe what you want but no religion in here please" rule. Plus the whole taking their name in vain thing. I never really say that stuff, usually it's either swearing or German swearing (sometimes PG swearing like "darn" or "crap").

While that use is by no means appropriate, it doesn't bother me. (pPobably because I've never practiced in my life. Meh, to each his own, right?)

Sounds good to me. Quick, get an admin's attention!

There's only one thing I want to see added to the swear filter which hasn't been added or mentioned already: "the". Yes, "the". Replaced automajikly by "the". It's about the most common typo, so why can't the swear filter also be a typo filter? (Plus it bugs me to no end...

)
