Is this worth it
AMD 2800+ (2Ghz)
512Megs of Ram
20 Gig Harddrive(had a larger one but im gonna take that with me for an external drive for laptop)
8X DVD Burner
54X CD Burner
Firewire card(for video editing or anyhtign firewire)
a 32mb video card (heres the catch, its a tv tuner/capture device. so you cna turn ur pc into a Digital VCR, or use it to capture Analog video (ie Tapes from a VCR and make them digital!)
pc is about a little over a year old.
17?or a 19" KDS Monditor
sellign the whole shabang for 600$OBO
Its got an AMD Athlon XP 2600 processer if you are wondering

you can beat that at any electronics store in the country. the X2 3800+ seems to be their current deal. I just got one for $550 with a gig of ram and 100 of storage. The fact is with the X2 systems so cheap, there's no reason at all to even look at a single core system.
and black friday's rapidly approaching, I imagine $399 will be the new price for the X2 systems--as long as you're first in line. (After numerous rebates, of course)

This is just from experience, but emachines aren't worth it. The PSU always breaks down, and they come to fix it, but it breaks down again. And again. And again. Thus, Emachines are worth less then you pay for them. At least they replace the power supply, I'd put in my own if they didn't.
