Haha, great stories everyone. I forgot one.
I have this GBA game called Space Invaders. It's like the old Space Invaders but with updated graphics and gameplay. And classic mode, too. One day, I left it in my pocket when I threw my pants into the laundry room. So my Space Invaders went through the washing machine and the dryer before I could find it.
It still worked perfectly, but I never played it. So I decided to sell it to GameStop. But they wouldn't accept it because quote: "I looks like it was eaten by a dog"

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.
That would be very creepy.minkster wrote:So I tell him he has a dirty cartridge connector and the guy gave me his number in case he needed help. That was creepy
I don't usually go to gamestop or anywhere like that, because ebay is generally cheaper and I'm not giving gamestop money (I went to sell some games there, and they offered me about $5 for one, but the were selling the same one for $20!).
When I was buying the stuff for my N64p at radio shack, the guy asked if it was for a science fair project. I told him that it was for a N64 portable, and he just kind of looked at me weird.

Well this didn't happen at GameStop/EB, but I guess it belongs here anyways.
I called up Sony and this is what the conversation went like:
Me: "Hello, what version firmware is the PSP currently shipping with?"
Sony: "Just a sec..."
*random noises*
Sony: "I'm sorry, that's a third party product that we don't support."

Edit: W00T! 1337th POST!!!

I sold my megaman battle network 2 gba cartridge to a gamestop. This christmas, I got a lot of cash, so I decided, "Hey, I'm gonna get a micro and one game, Just for fun!" Iwent to a babages in a mall, I bought my micro, and I bought megaman battle network 2, because that game pwned. It was my cart. I knew this for 3 reasons.
1. I had put myself at the end of the undernet, right before bass I think, and I had a hacked up folder
2. It had my name on it
3. It had all my styles.
What I don't get is that I sold that game to a different gamestop....

When I was at Gamestop buying Mechassault to do the Xbox softmod, the guy was about to ring me up when I asked to see the disc. (I needed a specific serial number) I looked at it and it was the wrong one. I said to him "This isn't the version I want." He looked at me weird, as if he was expecting an explanation. I said with a big grin, "I'm doing the Xbox hack," and walked out.

I went in to look at project boxes for an NESp once and I told the guy what I wanted it for and he just thought it was cool, and suggested I bought one that would allow empty space for ventilation.vskid wrote:When I was buying the stuff for my N64p at radio shack, the guy asked if it was for a science fair project. Well, at the RadioShack, I was there getting some LEDs and some Resistors (For a screen hack, but this wasn't for a portable, it was actually because the cathode tube broke) and I asked the guy at the desk if he'd ever done it. He said no, but he called up the guy in the back who's an MIT student (I'm guessing home for the summer) and he starts saying how he's done it before. Just for kicks I decided to ask him what he did with i, and he gets all exited and starts telling me about this neat site where this guy turns video game consoles into portables, and he said after seeing that he had to make a portable NES for himself.
Of course he was talking about this place, though I never did find out if the guy was on here or which one of the NES's out there was his... I said I had been there and that I had thought about making one (It was early this summer) but didn't know if I had the know-how to do it...
So, hey, if any of you here are an MIT student and work at a Radio Shack right next to a U Krops in Mechanicsville Virginia, post a comment

this happened to me at walmart. i went up to the counter to buy a game and gived the guy a $20. he would not look at me and then went and helped the other person in line. i asked him what the hell he was doing and he said they dont take play money and told me to go away. i told him that is a real $20 so he picked it up and look at it in the light. the women standing there told him that was the new $20 (this is when the new $20 bills came out, the colorful ones) he then finally checked me out.

You lucked out. I got into a screaming arguement with a lady at a Target who kept telling me that mine was fake, and someone behind me even vouched for me, and she still wouldn't believe it was real. The manager ended up coming out and he looked like he wanted to hit the lady at the register.zagalo wrote:this happened to me at walmart. i went up to the counter to buy a game and gived the guy a $20. he would not look at me and then went and helped the other person in line. i asked him what the hell he was doing and he said they dont take play money and told me to go away. i told him that is a real $20 so he picked it up and look at it in the light. the women standing there told him that was the new $20 (this is when the new $20 bills came out, the colorful ones) he then finally checked me out.

Why don't they? They could just sell it as-is and not have any kind of warranty. Do they buy busted systems and then waste money and not sell them?daguuy wrote:this reminds me, i need to go to EBgames and ask for an atari 2600i have a game but no console. i also need to bring my N64p, that'd be sweet. too bad they don't sell damaged consoles. one time i went there and asked if i could get a broken XBOX but they said no
