The card reader is fine, when you told me to do the cd G:/ on another card I first moved all the data off my second card before doing anything. :P

@iam:
Where are "administrative tools"? :?
Guess there not on your Start menu. Here's how to get 'em:

1) Right click Start Button -> Properties

2) Click on the Customize box for whatever kind of Start Menu you use

For Start Menu:

3) Click Advanced

4) Scroll down to Administrative Tools and Choose the second option

For Classic Start Menu:

3) Choose "Display Administrative Tools", or something along those lines
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

Now the administrative tools should be on your Start Menu, so continue with my first post.

you could also right-click on my computer, and choose manage. That's faster.

Nothing still. It's like the thing's not plugged in. Everywhere I go it thinks there isn't a disc plugged in. I knows the reader is plugged in, that's drive G, but never the disc.

I think the answer may be quite simple: Your card reader doesn't support a Microdrive's power requirements.
Some Wikipedia contributor wrote:Certain bus-powered CF card readers lack the power needed to run a microdrive although they do take CF II cards, when using such a device it will usually be detected by the host but errors will occur once the user attempts to access the drive.
Another Wikipedia contributor wrote:Unlike flash memory microdrives require power even when no data is being transferred to them to keep the disc spinning. As a result many devices such as the iPod mini leave the drive switched off for most of the time while periodically starting it up to fetch data from it to fill the device's buffer. Microdrives will switch off after idling for more than a few seconds to counter this problem however this means that more time is lost constantly spinning the drive up. This effect would be particularly problematic if an operating system is being run from the drive. However the drive can be forced to stay running if the host device is programmed to write random bits of data to it.

Well, if you get a card reader which can handle the power requirements but it still doesn't work, follow my instructions, m'kay? :lol:

Wow, I knew it would be embarrasingly simple. I assumed power wouldn't be a problem since my reader took type II cards. That's unintellegent design for ya.
