PS3 vs. X360 vs. Wii vs. Wii60 Googlefight!

I just thought this would be fun to do.

A googlefight is simple. You google multiple things and compare the amount of hits. The more hits, the more popular something is.

Xbox 360:172,000,000
Wii:117,000,000
PS3:98,300,000
Wii60:169,000

I just thought that might be some kind of indication of how the console wars could turn out.

It sorta works with the last gen consoles.

PS2:177,000,000
Gamecube:133,000,000
Xbox -360 (so it doesn't include sites about the 360):89,200,000


But of course, internet popularity doesn't mean a thing when you're talking about sales. Snakes on a Plane gets 78,900,000 hits, yet it's only earned about 20 million dollars.

So, really, whoever wins the console wars is still very much up in the air.

Though it seems to me that the 360 will win and the Wii will suffer Snakes on a Plane syndrome, with the PS3 solidly in the middle. But that's just my opinon, of course. In fact, I think Ben said something along those lines in his podcast. (actually, credit goes entirely to him for comparing the wii to snakes on a plane originally.)

However, I'm still rooting for Sony. Call me a fanboy if you want, I don't care.

So, who do you think will win the console wars? Will the wii60 concept actually be popular? Do you think I'm full of BS? Post your opinions!

To be blunt. The Wii60 crap is totally BS. They expect me to buy a ~$250 system, and a $400 system, and no controllers, or anything, and still be past the PS3's price? All though the PS3 has proved to be a stinker thus far, the Xbox 360 is starting to catch my eye. No fancy wands or nunchucks, and don't feed to me how great a sensory remote would be. No. That's just stupid. With a Wii, you have the silly little table tennis, and what not, which is probably fun for a few minutes, just like Warioware. But the latest recreations of 20 year old franchises is getting old. On to my complaints about first person shooters, which is mainly stolen from Ben himself. When you're hand is in mid-air, waving something around, do you know where it's pointing? No. Which kind of makes an FPS suck.

Complaints about PS3 now. As cool as the system looked at first, it's sort of lost it's cool. The whole fact that Sony is dumping all their money into better graphics, is (although very strategic to people who like pretty things) kind of a waste. And I imagine the launch titles will totally suck, as with the 360. PS3 has 1 good thing going for it, MGS4. With amazing graphics, and (judging from past MGS's) Hideo's style of gameplay, that game is going to be amazing. And what is with turning the PS3 into a home computer? I have one of those, and most people willing to shell out 500-600 bucks for your system probably has one too. I also enjoy how the PS3 openly copied the Wii, sort of brings you back to the PS1 copying N64 for analog stick days, doesn't it?

And finally, the Xbox 360. Which is my choice console mainly because, Gears of War, Halo 3, and GTA 4. By a technological stand point, Xbox 360 is comparable to a PS3, which I can garauntee will get Microsoft some money, from people who wont shell out $500-600 on the PS3, but want the next best thing. And you can insult me saying graphics don't matter, gameplay does. And I agree. But there are some "dumb" people we'll call them, who shell out more for pretty-ness, than quality. Which is why I think in these ranks make the most sense.

You have 2 systems, 2 controllers, and a few extra addons for the Xbox Pro kit.

You have 1 system, 1 controller, and possibly some extra addons


Both consoles

-You have no games for EITHER CONSOLE PACK, Wii60 or PS3.

-You buy 2 games for PS3, 1 game for Xbox 360, 1 game for the Wii.

Final packages, with approximate (7.5%) tax included:

Wii60: $763.25
PS3: $774

So there. The only thing I HATED about Ben's podcast was him saying "So you got a Wii and a 360, but no games." Well ok, you would also have JUST a PS3, and no games.

What's the freaking difference?

Nicholai, I swear, you just can't talk about consoles without being a fanboy. We don't care that you think the Xbox 360 is better than the PS3 which is better than the Wii, because you've said it in any post about any of the new consoles, so shut up already.

Fair enough, but say the Wii is $250, (which is pretty feasible price for the sensory technology needed.) Kinda of throws your theory off a bit, but Wii60 is pretty meaningless because who's going to buy them at the same time? You'd have to be pretty loaded, to buy 2 systems at once, so I don't even see how this Wii60 garbage is even going to catch on like they say it will. Because, after extra controllers, memory cards, and stuff you need for Wii and Xbox, you're going to go past the price rather far, but you spend that extra money and get 2 consoles, so I'd probably take the Wii60 if i had to choose one.

We all know that the Wii is going to have cheaper games, accessories and all, so it almost evens out even if the Wii is $250, though I predict the 360 will go down to $350 (pro) when the Wii comes out.

The 360 is catching my eye more than the 360 is. Especially with Bioshock. That game looks like it will scare the pants off of you. I'll get the Wii after the 360. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean that we all need to get it. Remember how well the Gamcube did with the low price?

True, but I believe the gamecube wasn't the next step of innovation, but rather just the "next console in line" if you get what i mean. And with the wii, it is more like an innovation, like a touch screen on a gameboy, rather than just the next step forward hardware-wise.

Well what i think is so nice about the 360 is that its not to either extreme. The Wii will probably have crazy fun games, but might be one of those things you'll want to play at a friends house, and not buy it for yourself. Plus a crazy low price. The ps3 will have amazing graphics, and a amazingly high price. The 360 has some pretty darn good games out, it's not super cheap and cheesy, and it's not really expensive and boasts amazing graphics either.

It's kinda like, "hmmmmm..... white or black........hmmmmm......how bout gray?"
