PS to USB converter

I already know that there are several types of PS controller to USB, but I'm from Mexico and I haven't found a place where they even know them. I also know that I can buy it at any web page and they bring it to me, but I would like to know if I can build my own converters. I have build a pair of metal dance pads for Dance Dance Revolution and I'm planing to use them with the Stepmania. Is there a way to build my own PS to USB converters???????

Well, it would be easier to convert Xbox to PC (as most dancepads have both connectors) but PS2-USB is not all to hard. Thissite may help.

playstation to USB is complicated, but you can connect it to your paralell port quite easily.
