NES Problem

Hey, I got a NES, with no Games, and No controllers, So I plug a 9V 300 m/A adapter into it, and I press the powerbutton, and the LED doesnt light up.

Did I fry it? Am I giving too little power? (It ask for 9V 850 m/A)
Is the LED gone?(How rare is that), Do I a game or it pluged into a TV to turn on?

Well, first of all, does a picture show up on the tv? If it's not connected to a tv, try that. If it's a regular NES, it has regular component inputs on the side.

Well its a NES, So I took A/V Cables and plugged them in the Audio Video A/V ports on the NES.

My Nintendo AC Adapter is 120V 60Hz 17W Output 9V 1.3A. I'd say 300 m/A is nowhere near enough.

Could I use a 12V 1000 mA adapter? Or would that fry the NES?

Yes, that'd be fine. I have a 12V adapter for my NES and it works fine. I don't remember the amp rating but it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 500mA.

Nevermind I fixed it, to get games working I cannot put the cartridge in all the way, does that mean my connector maybe going dead?

I don't know. You may have to replace the connector, or you could just wire the damned thing to the board and be done with it...

I pulled up the pins and disabled the lockout chip on mine and it works like a dream.
