Hi, I have a Genesis 2 that wont power on, I noticed near the power jack, theres a wire connecting from one point to another point on the board, I thought that this would be the problem so I cut the wire, needless to say the Genesis still wouldent power on.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Do you ever give any details? "There was a wire going from one place to another" tells us absolutely nothing.

-Gforce's site
The wire was connecting from positive to another point on the board, if needed I will post a picture later

A not so good quality picture is up, I drew out a composite of what it looks like:
Its basicly going from positive to what it seems a random point on the board, I did clip the wire hoping that would fix it but it dident.

Try replacing the power switch with a different one from, say, RadioShack, or just jump the power switch altogether with a bit of solder. And yes, Skyler IS cool!
ALMOST as cool as me. Almost. Let's hear it for CTFan!!!!!!
And Sky is right, we need more details. My advice is just general troubleshooting, I can't do anything unless you take a pic or tell us some other things; was there any abnormality before, did you drop it, etc.
