I should have been more specific.Electric Rain wrote:I'm not annoying. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. If you can't produce a working N64 emulator by the end of October, then I won't believe you.

Nope, never going to happen. N64 ROMs are ~16MB, now the internal DS RAM is 4MB. Is that going to fit?! NOPE!Electric Rain wrote:Alright, look you guys... I know it seems unlikely, but you should stop bashing him anyway. Think about how stupid you guys are going to feel if he's for real. If he's not, fine, but either way you're still being a little hard on him...

You can get away a little bit with that number if the architectures are the pretty much the same (GBA & SNES) but don't expect anything phenominal. And there aren't even enough buttons anyway.

Which is why I'm building a portable N64.
Systems before the N64 can all be emulated, which I don't mind that much, (I know what Ben said... but there's nothing wrong with that, either.
) and systems after the N64 are too expensive to risk ruining at this point.
Anyway, like I said... even if he's talking out of his @$$, don't be so rude to a fellow forum member. Now let's not let this turn into a flamewar, and get back on topic.

Didn't he say that he could emulate SNES on a NES, and that he couldn't get it to work right because "the NES doesn't have enough memory" or something like that?
He kinda just proved himself wrong there. I thought the NES didn't have any internal memory and everything came right off the cart.
SS, you're a poor liar.

*Gives him and ER a hug*teraflop122 wrote:He was talking about onboard Ram, of which the NES has about 2KB. I can believe his Snes on a NES emulator, because it never worked properly. *Flicks off everyone else*
Yeah, what he said about the nes is true, I WAS running an emulater. And perhaps you've all never heard of someone who has friends? Now when I said I had a professional team, I meant I had friends who can code. Also I don't give a crap what they say on gbadev.
Good point. And besides, why would I want to release it early for your sorry asses? Why would I waste my time taking screenshots just to show you guys? Are you special or something? I'm sorry I (and others) are screwing up your topic iam7805. and just because the ds/lite doesn't have enough ram, memory, all that crud that april's dealing with, doesn't mean that its not upgradeable, or that fact the we pimped out our ds flash cart.A dedicated programmer could emulate a 2GHz CPU on a 50MHz CPU if he or she wanted to; it would merely take a LONG time to accomplish anything.
If your lucky, I might release a screen shot later, but sure as hell not here.
And that "trap" pm? What the HELL does that prove? It only helps me by this: your getbent on proving me wrong. You have NOTHING on me. You can't do anything like this. I have skills with SNES coding. AND with nes. Most all of you tring to prove me wrong will look like total dumbasses soon.
And vb, this doesn't go towards you. You raised a good point on the ds' internals.
And the rest of you, go waste your time on something else.
To the blackbox creators: if its powerful enough, Tyler could work on the n64 emu for it.

A playable N64 emulator on the Blackbox (as it is right now) would probably be impossible. That small chip has only so many transistors, and it has to handle general CPU tasks as well as audio and video processes.
I wonder what you'd see if you compared the transistor count of the DS ARM9 to the N64's whatever.
