some broken sega stuff

i have a broken sega genesis (model 2) a somewhat working model 2, and 4 nonworking controllers. how can i thougholy (sp?) clean/fix this stuff? also, i bought about 25 "unworking" NES games off some guy for a few dollars, only to discover that excite bike and legend of zelda were the only nonworking ones (2 of my favorite

)someone told me there is a way you can actually "fix" the cartridges. is this possible to?

For the snes carts, clean the connector, and if necessary, replace it. (I think)

desoldering the chips and put them in another cartrige (after removing its chips of course) might work.

No, just clean the contacts.
get an emory board and rub vigorously on both sides of the pins
get a cue tip with rubbing alchahol and swab her clean

Yeah. And you know what's funny? On the back of each cart, it says "DO NOT CLEAN WITH ALCOHOL", but most, if not all, cleaning kits for the NES are just rubbing alcohol. Looks like Nintendo was trying to get you to buy the kits instead of DIY!

But yeah, try that. You will probably get all this black crud on the cue tip, but that's a good sign, because that means it's getting cleaned.

repeat it a thousand times too. I think I got carpal tunnel in my thumb doing that. <_<
