Truth? Or blatant fanboyist lies?

I own a DS, and it has a headphone port...
And as for the accessory port, I'm hoping for rumble packs, memory cards, GBC/ GB to GBA converters, Extra battery (Don't know if this is even possible but a good concept), flash memory reader for videos, music, etc, perhaps emulators... the possibilities are nearly endless.

Memory card in developement, only for save sharing
Converters seem unprobable, but the would pwn.
Extra battery? Just have one custom made. Mine isn't in yet, but I am guranteed 20+ on highest brigtness.
Supercard is the way to go.
I am the NDSL KING!

Okay, I know the DS isn't a Gameboy, but if Nintendo never made the Gameboy, the DS probably wouldn't exist. And I wasn't saying you were offending my sig, I'm just sticking to what it says.ShockSlayer wrote:Kurt makes a good point.
And super camera man, I wasn't offending your sig. I was talking about the VG Hippies.Umm, the ds isn't the newest gameboy. The gameboy franchise ended with the sp. The micro was a failure IMO. An example:
Gamecube - Wii
Would you say that the Wii is a gamecube 2? No, because its only backward compatible with the gamecube games.
Many people say(and I don't blame them) that the DS is the newest gameboy. At the beginning of the ds, the second port was only used for gba games, and yet on the horizon we are sailing to, is that the bottom slot is for accsesories.

(BTW: Nice work on "Don't mess with the n64" Can you really make mario dizzy?)

BTW: Thanks! I'm not sure... I kicked it before we could find out.
If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

That site is fanboyish crap.
For a start, when you make a screenshot twice the size, it's going to pixelate and look crappy. And they also missed out Touch screen and Stereo jack on Inputs / Outputs to make the DS look featureless. It has a GBA port as an expansion slot. And the PSP has had way more problems than the DS, including overheating and naturally failing firmware. The DS firmware is write protected making it impossible to maliciously brick, whilst PSP can be bricked any time of day. Oh, and where the hell is the PSP's expansion port? It's labelled but I can't find it for crap.
This is funny...
"DS goes into sleep mode when it's turned off for battery saving but will keep the memory of the game in tact (much like stand by for your PSP)."
No, DS goes into sleep mode when you close the lid. Notice trying to slag the DS off by implying it has no sleep mode.
This is complete fanboyism.. Since when has the systems power and graphics mattered? We all had fun playing NES and SNES games, they're hardly crap now that we've got Xbox 360's..

I'm not sure. I really don't know why a lot of peaple are going "ZOMG GUD GRAFIX = GUD GAEM!!!!1". But, history has proven itself in this field. Look at the almost all of the nintendo consoles released, most of them wer technologically inferior to their competitors but they made up for it in fun games, new innovations, price, and simplicity. IMHO, Nintendo has been here, is here, and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I like the original xboxs, but sony should stick to DVDs and M$ should stick to computers. Only one of them has actually done something to help the video game industry. Xbox's massive power.

I don't see why so many people say good graphics and good effects make a good game. I admit, how the 360 and the PS3 are hi-def looks cool and there will be allot of neat graphical breakthroughs, but I think too early. The number of people with hi-def TVs is still too low. And the cost that companies need to spend is too high.
Too much more time is needed for bigger textures and higher polygon counts (the average Halo level has more polygons than all of Golden Eye for N64). With more work needed on graphics, companies will either hire more people, increase how long it takes to produce a game, or cut down on programmers. The last saves the most money, so which do you think companies will choose?
Anywho, I still say that Wacky Wheels and Megarace (1 and 2) beat allot of newer racing games, Zelda on NES and Earthbound beat allot of new RPGs, Galaga and Ms. PacMan beat allot of new arcade games, Total Annihilation and Red Alert beat allot of new RTSs, etc...
And no, I am not saying that good new games don't exist, it's just not as often as they used to. After all what is a game without good game play?

Ya, TA rocks!legoboy wrote:Total Annihilation and Red Alert beat allot of new RTSs
Too much time is spent on graphics, games just aren't as good now. I mean, the biggest N64 games are about 64mb, but xbox 360 games are up to 8 something gb, and the gameplay is not a ton better, if at all. Good graphics are nice, but a game with great graphics but poor gameplay is less fun than a game with ok graphics and awesome gameplay. Thats what I like about the DS, it isn't just a way to sell you the same games you have for your console (thats what the protables we build are for, and you can use your existing games), it is a whole new way to play.
