Hey does anyone know of any good free plans for diy mp3 players, I googled but kept coming up with places talking about ladyada's minty mp3 and not about actual plans for one.

You need to know how to solder SMT componits, but the Minty MP3 is a nice project if you want to just do it for the challange. And the link is to the page about how to make. If you're just looking for a cheap MP3 you're better off buying something at Best Buy/Circuit City/ect.
