WMM is what grandma's use to create slideshows of their grandchildren on holidays.

That is a truely crap film, i mean the serial killer didnt even have a knife, and was beaten by a teenage girl, i mean come onminkster wrote:I can tell you the movie we based it on, which was "When a Stranger Calls". It was such a horrible movie that we felt obligated to spoof it in one way or another. The rest of the information is classified until further notice
Ulead will do all you want it to, but personally i hate using it, the interface inst exactly the most helpful
I tend to use VirtualDub to edit all the clips and then stick them together and put the effects in wiht Ulead, its easier that way

Well, I'm not really much of a movie producer, but I know one thing:
Windows Movie maker is a n00by piece of crap. It can only export in Windows Media Format (blech) or 30meg/sec AVI (also blech). Sure it has cutesy little transitions and titles and things like that, but it has no advanced control over them. When I made videos on my old PowerMac 8100 (with AV in/out card) I used a program called (I think) Avid VideoShop. Then I stumbled across an old, OLD copy of Adobe Premiere on the thing. Now I use QuickTime and Premiere Elements. (Yes I know the Elements versions of Adobe's programs aren't the greatest but it gets the job done better than Windows Movie Mangler.)

It's a 16 foot tall camera boom with an articulated head. I guess by pulling on cords you can pivot the camera up, down, left, and right. I'd build one if my video camera wasn't one of the huge shoulder-mounted things from 1989. (It's huge but it takes regular VHS tapes!
I watched a movie on it during a power outage a few years ago.)

I use Premiere Elements as well, and like bic said, it's not perfect, but it is loads better than than WMM.
Also, if you're interested in special effects and whatnot, Adobe After Effects is a great program. Granted it's ~$700 new, but you can find version 5.5 or so for roughly $100 on eBay. (5.5 is the oldest version that works on XP)

Well, I ended up trying out Ulead because there is a 30 day free trial verison...so i tried editing the beginning of the King Arthur movie and it was kind of hard to first get used to, but i think I'm getting the hang of it. All I did in this clip was trim out a sword scene I didn't like, added slowmo, and revamped the title. I'm definitely going to do more, but it took me an hour just to do that...and a half an hour was dedicated to figuring out how to do anything properly with that program

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.
Well thanks for the help guys! I finally have a very good WIP of King Arthur! I finished editing all the video, now all I need to work on is background music, sound effects, etc. Any good sites that have good music to use for movies and whatnot?
Well, anywho...King Arthur, which was once 30minutes long, is now reduced to 12 minutes...and it came out EXCELLENT compared to the garbage that it originally was with barely any editing. Please watch, comment, and critique it. It is all appreciated thanks
