Why "impossible"

Post by Klefmung »

We all know now that the XBox is a perfectly possible system to make portable-note the two XBXps in existance. But, beforehand, most of us remember it being "impossible." so, why was it "impossible?" What made it so inplausible that it was impossible?

...I know a hard drive is so hard to run on batteries it takes like a 'hole 79 amps.

I really have no clue why people think it's so hard. Maybe because it requires a variety of voltages? Even then, it's not too hard. Maybe size? Maybe fragility?

it doesn't take 79A .....anyway, it was thought to be extremely hard, not impossible. It was simply that the required work to get it small enough was, well, a lot, and it made most portablizers shy away from it. Dkap01 and that other guy who made one simply had more work to do to portablize it and get it all small enough to use.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Lets also remember the Xbox is really a computer, and to date no one has made a portable PC. So if PC =! portablizible, it seems logical to think the same of the Xbox.

fact is that people were INTIMIDATED by the XBOX and to a person who has little experience with a soldering iron (and to most people a few years is it and on a cosmic scale is barely a fart in the water)

This intimidation set people in a state of fear of the unknown and thereby, the people immediatly claimed it "impossible"

Fact is, with the right amount of money and time, nothing is impossible

So everyone go out, get a job, and make your own XBOXp
I refuse to dignify myself with an intelligent and witty signature

Alright, but without the job. <_< I have a few bucks coming, and just a few parts off the 'net to reach negative voltages and what not. I don't think my brother is taking that to college. *glares* I have to get rid of a few clients by actually finishing the portables first.

You mean it's possbile to make a portable PS3?
Klefmung wrote:MGDp, mate.
That's really more akeen to a Shuttle PC then a portable. As it lacks a screen and a self-contained power source.
