Ok so I bought another nes because I fried the old one (worked on carpet). Now so I removed the rf box but when I removed it there were little metal circles around the five pins. I now only have two metal circles (I think). They came off when I removed it. The circles are missing on the non parts side. Will everything still work normally?

It would be helpful is you could take some pictues and put them on photobucket. Did you loose these "circles" (actually, the lines on a PCB are called traces) on the front or the back, and did the trace tear through to the other side, etc. If you take pics take them from the front and the back. If you did damage those traces at that location it might still be possible to get the proper signals from your NES at a different location, for example, you could get the video signal directly off the PPU instead. All I can say for now is that the solder needs to stick to those traces in order to make a proper connection, so if youve torn the trace you will certainly need to connect the wires somewhere else.

Ok, I'll post a picture soon. But, I dont think what I accidentally took off was a trace. You know where the pins come up out of the rf box, there are little metal circles that connect the pins to the mobo. I think three of these came off when I took the rf box off. The three that came off were on the solder side (non-parts side). I'll go take a picture and post it soon.

Well, i examined my own NES mobo, and yes, those circles are conductors and thus are traces, just circular instead of lines. I did notice that on the non-parts side of the mobo those traces don't connect to anything, they just anchor the connector down to the PCB, so yeah, you should be fine. The conections go all the way through the hole, even the inside of the hole has a conductor on it, look reeeal close and you will see what I mean. So yeah. if you can make a contact electricly speaking your set! Good luck!
