need forum opinion on this

Post by Rototiller »

hello everybody! rototiller here and i've got a question.
i've recently came into a bunch of money and i want to buy a videogame system. problem is, I can't chose. :( so, here's something i want.

vectrex (seems cool)
gamegear ( don't know, battery life an issue.)
atari lynx ( same problem as game gear)
super nintendo

Or should i just save it for a Wii? (i still can't get over the name change.)
what sig? i don't see anything...

Of all the systems out there, I'd put them in this order:

1. Wii (you'll get used to it sooner or later)
2. Dreamcast (A very underrated system)
3. SNES
4. Lynx... especially if you manage to get a copy of Lemmings :)

turbo tax

Neo geo is on my mind 'specially since metal slug's on it (i think), but I feel about it like nintendo fanboys feel about the ps3, not very interested.
I also feel the same way about the wii as nintendo fanboys do :It's flippin pure awesomishness !!one!!eleven
spongey: i don't have a dreamcast, but I like 'em just fine. And on a scale of 1 to 10 how are lynxs lynxes lnyxi ?( more importantly what's lynx plural?)
what sig? i don't see anything...

i think Lynx's plurel is Lynx. Anyway, Buy a dreamcast, and if you can get shenmue on Dreamcast its a great RPG. or Save it for a Wii, thats what i would do.

I would save up for the Wii. My second choice would be the SNES, but thats because I don't even know what a Lynx or Vectrex is :P

Let me suggest a personal want of mine... the NEC Turbo Duo. If I had the money to blow that would be one of the first classic consoles I'd buy.

I'd say save it for Wii, especially because you mentioned you like Metal Slug, and they're making a compilation of it for Wii with five or so Metal Slug games.

I'd recommend a Dreamcast; they're cheap. REALLY cheap. Last time I saw some at GameStop they were $15. Unfortunately I didn't pick one up (:() so I can't take advantage of all the $0.50 games they have there. (Most games were <$4)

A SNES is easily portablize-able (for lack of a better word), and readily avalible.

I don't think you should get a Lynx; its game library is limited. But listening to people say "atari whaaaa?" must be hilarious! (There are people who think the 2600 was their only console! They generally call it "The Atari".)

But I'll agree with other people. When it's released, go to GameStop or Best Buy and take a Wii. And a Dreamcast. I agree with Spongey, you'll probably get used to the remote controller sooner or later.

Good point bicostp. I'll prolly buy a (muh heh heh) wii, dreamcast, or super nintendo. Don't they have a lemmings game for super nintendo and nes? I'll look.

I think they do, but Lynx's Lemmings is probably closest to the original versions. Oh yeah, GBC Lemmings is crap, for what it's worth.

You'll get the best $$$ to fun ratio by getting a DC. Then you can save the rest of your money to buy a Wii when it comes out.
