You do realize that the gas produced is poisonous, right?
Anyways, for all I know the gas got into the camera and condensed on some parts and is now eating it :P

You probably won't be able to fix it. If I were you, I would just put the camera back where you found it and deny that you ever touched it.

Yeah, I know this seems to be a dire situation, but it must be said...

lol, pwned!!

Don't think I'm being cruel, but unless you were making that bomb to MacGyver your way out of a prison, you were being stupid and you deserved it.

Indeed, & the tape (which, depending if it's digital or analog) might be able be played in a VCR w/ an adapter. Good luck destroying that tape as evidence!

Ok. First of all...

<img src="http://bicostp.portablesofdoom.org/foru ... period.PNG">

Now I notice you said "chlorine". You may have found out the hard way that chlorine is an oxidizing agent. In other words, it makes metal rust. Ever see the episode of Futurama about global warming, where Nibbler drinks the entire pool of water and belches chlorine gas? It's kinda like that but without instant dead leaves. The gasses probably penetrated the camera and screwed it up. The only thing you can do is face the music and start washing the dishes to pay for the camera.

Of course, why the hell you were using it when you KNEW it was expensive and you weren't supposed to touch it is beyond me. Let alone the fact taht you're playing with chemicals that were used as poison gas in WWI. :roll: Duh.

And as gannon said, chlorine gasses are toxic. Just play with Diet Coke and Mentos like everyone else. :P

And atari2600a, stop spamming. (posting the same huge obnoxious image over and over is spamming.)

And when it comes to insulting people through images (you shouldn't be insulting in the first place), once is enough at most. More is just more annoying. *adblocks images*

Yeah that way you only get the camera sticky, and even then it still tastes good! :P

That way nothing will short circuit. Leave it for a few days to dry, or if you are confident with your tinkering skills open 'er up and dry it all out with a hairdryer. I don't quite understand about the bomb thing - did some fluid splash onto the camera or what? How far away was the camera from this bomb?

According to Google other people have had this purple problem and they hadn't abused their cameras. Some got theirs replaced, too, while the problem seemed to just go away for some other guy. I don't think there is any quick solution to this.
This isn't water, it's chlorine. Chlorine screws up metal. Chances are, if any sort of chlorine got inside the camera, it's ruined because the chemicals wll have corroded the traces and contacts on the PCB. Water would have been better for the camera.

Bottom line is, the camera is most likely ruined and there isn't anything you can feasably do to fix it. You screwed up and it's time to face the concequences.

I just want to know what the heck you were thinking when you decided to play with chlorine.
