also, surely someone who has built an xbox portable would know enough what port you need to hook up to xbox live.......anyway, I'll believe it when I see it

i have actually thought about making my XBOX semi portable by putting an AV transmitter into a small case along with a wireless controller for limited "portable" (read: in another room) action

It's not that hard. You just get one of those third party screens that screw onto the back of the system. Then I cut the controller cord in half, got one of those stands that they have at the gamestores in the booths, and installed battery backup! It took me 15 minutes to assemble. sorry aboutr no pictures...I don't have a digital camera...
