Do I need any special USB ports or anything?

and why would you need any special ports, the x-box already has all the needed ones.

hmmmmmm most likely you're lying...........if you are telling the truth though, you've accomplished something that's so unbelieveably difficult it's................unbelieveable :P.........
also, surely someone who has built an xbox portable would know enough what port you need to hook up to xbox live.......anyway, I'll believe it when I see it :).
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

i have actually thought about making my XBOX semi portable by putting an AV transmitter into a small case along with a wireless controller for limited "portable" (read: in another room) action :-)

It's not that hard. You just get one of those third party screens that screw onto the back of the system. Then I cut the controller cord in half, got one of those stands that they have at the gamestores in the booths, and installed battery backup! It took me 15 minutes to assemble. sorry aboutr no pictures...I don't have a digital camera...
