Anybody interested in NES or Genesis portables?

Post by bioniclebert »

Well I've been working on a NESP to sell for quite some time. Currently, all I need is a new hipgear LCD for it, and then to bondo the front half of the case and glue it shut.
However, I don't know how much anybody wants to pay for a NESP, so I decided to make a Genesis portable as well. (I need some money for gizmo gadgets) It uses a Genesis 2 mobo, and for it I still need a psone screen, and to make a case. However, I do have broken parts that I use for measurement, so I know what the thing will look like. I plan to run it off of a 7.2V RC battery, and it's a pretty basic design.

And the NES portable is in a post I made earlier, however, I'l take some pictures of it at it's current state. I also plan to add decals if they turn out well.

So here's a summary:
I have a NES portable in progress and may start a genesis portable. I want to sell both of them but I don't have any screens for either. So if someone wanted to send me a screen, I'd give them a discount off of the portable. At the moment, someone may have a hipgear for the NOAC NES portable, but I still have to work out a deal. As far as a psone screen, I don't have one of those yet. I do however have all the other supplies for the portable (genesis).
So thanks for reading and let me know if you're interested.

Well I was writing a detailed response, but firefox froze and had to close. So I'l have to wrap this up.

NES: about 125$ plus labor money (so about 150$-175$)
Genesis: about 145$ plus labor money (so about 175$-200$)
Quite expensive yes, but the parts really do add up. Like I said, I made a detailed list of each of the things I bought for this, and their prices, and so these were the numbers I got at the end.

EDIT:
If I sold those together, Instead of putting it at $325-$375, I'l put it at an even 300$

That always sucks. The only bad thing about firefox is the os (windows) it has to run on on my computer.

Yes, but my computer runs windows, so it doesn't matter what its avalible on, its what I run it with. I have a imac and don't really like it, because its way slow. I need windows, mostly because I use the family computer and I don't think my parents could use anything else.

And crash recovery is great, until a page makes it crash and then loads it up again, crash, etc. Thats because I told it not to show that window, so I couldn't stop it.

All my stuff is for windows, why run linux when I have nothing to use on it.

EDIT: Ok, I'm downloading Ubuntu right now to try it.

So yeah, Anybody actually want to buy a NES or Genesis portable? I need screens for both, and thats it. I haven't gotten any response for the NES hipgear LCD in about a week, So I guess I need one of those too. The NESP is about 95% done, the only thing I have to do is put a new LCD in and bondo the front half of the case. All the other parts are mounted, glued, and bondo'ed in place. Pictures of it are in another post I made that I'l add in here in a minute.

As far as the genesis goes, I have all the parts except a screen, and about 3 weeks of nothing to do for the rest of the summer. Which means working on a portable should be extremely quick. If anyone wants this and will supply me with a PSone LCD, I will take that out of the cost.

Thanks a bunch,
bioniclebert

Since then It has been fully painted, and the hipgear adjust knobs have been added to the top, and the volume knob on the front. I'l get new pictures as soon as I can.

Well, if I designed a Genesis portable myself and sent you the screen and the Genesis, would you do it for cheaper than the price you had?

Yeah, I guess, as I am already doing the same thing with another member.

And it will cut the cost down significantly. The only major things I'd need would be the battery, and plastic, as I am running Very low on that now.

OK the genesis portable may be accounted for, (in transaction) but the NESP is still up there!
