Super TV Game Joystick III vs. Yobo NES
I own both and I'm wondering which one to make into a portable. The Happy Mega Fun Pirate Nintendo Certified (not really) game player gamer game joystick, or the yobo NES.

How much soldering are you willing to do?

Either way I'd probably have to do a crapload of soldering, on the NOAC, I'd have to swap out the fami slot with a 72pin USA slot and postition it vertically, and swap out the controlls. On the Yobo, I'd just have to reposition the cartridge slot and hardwire in some NES controllers. Plus the Screen and Batterys on each. What would be easier?atari2600a wrote:How much soldering are you willing to do?

On either one I'd have to relocate the slot, the tiniest jitter can make a NES cart crash, it's good to relocate the slot. unless you want a weird tunnel ttpe enclosure for the cartridge to slide into to prevent motion.scherzo wrote:I'm a big proponent of the Yobo. The only downside to it in portabilizing is that the main PCB is a bit larger that the one found in most Super Joys, Power Players, whatever. But since I'm not too good at soldering I live with the extra size instead of trying to relocate the cart connector.

Make the SJ3 portable, the yobo has more use non-portable. The SJ3 sucks unless it is made portable....
Yea, I cut my finger on the converter when attempting to play SMB3 on a SJ3. <_<
