FS: A couple 'o NESp's/Now with Pics!!!

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

I'm selling two (well, one for sure) NESp's. One is made from a Super Joy III, and is in handheld form. It doesn't take carts, but instead runs the ROM files on the SJIII (Super Mario Bros., Tetris, Donkey Kong, Excite Bike, etc.). It features a HipGear LCD and a headphone jack, along with external controller for handheld or console-style use. It takes 4 AA batteries. The only beef about this one is that, occasionally, the screen goes gray when powered on; this is a result of a bum ribbon cable on the LCD motherboard. This could easily be remedied by anyone with soldering skills, or perhaps an even easier fix would be just to insert a new LCD for the HipGear.

The other NESp I am not so sure about selling; It was made from an actual NES, and has no built-in controller. It instead has 2 controller jacks on the side of the unit. A 4 inch LCD display is used, along with 2 speakers. The original on/off buttons are also used. For power, it uses a battery pack, or a wall mount (not included). It also has a sheet of plexiglass over the screen for protection. I'm not sure about this one, because it was built for a friend; he then left it here to be "fixed", (he just broke the original power source) but later bought a PocketFami and has not commented on this portable since. I built it for free, so I suppose it's mine to sell, but I am gonna run things by him first.

Thanks,
CTFan

super Joy

How hard would it be to add a cart slot on the super joy? What type of case is it in? What type of price tag are you going to put on it? Are you willing to trade? When the screen goes grey what do you have to do to make it come back again? Can you post some pics?

*Inhales*Easy, just take off the hot glue placed on the tabs of the Super Joy III, flip it upside down, cut a hole in the case, and slap on a converter. It's in a RadioShack project box. I dunno, name one, and I'll let you know how it sounds. No trades. Either just turn it on again, or shake it a bit; a permanent fix would probably be better overall, though. Yes, I can.*Exhales*

The whole shebang

Yay! Mario ROM!!!

These were in-progress pics. If you really want to see the actual portable that bad, I can probably take those pics as well. all it is is the NES controller mounted on the front, right below the screen. If anyone gets interested in the other portable as well, I'll post those pics, too. Thanks for your interest, guys!

Comin' right up! And I have just been informed that I can sell the NESp that takes actual NES carts, although it would not include a power source. I could tell you the DC jack to buy at RadioShack, and provide detailed instructions on how to build the battery pack for the unit for complete portablility.
