help ps1 type portable

Post by mkjunior »

hello everybody,

i have a ps1 lcd and an old 8 bit videogame console having mario, contra all those old gameswhich i use to play when i was a kid in the tv.
the 8 bit console has a yellow video out plug like the ones on dvd players and tvs

so is it possible to get this videogame to run on a ps1 lcd screen

i have seen many articles of connecting the lcd to a pc but not a videogames

i am not that aware about electronics but have a fair idea so can someone help me

Your 8-bit console is an noac and it is quite easy to connect it to the psone screen. Search for ps one screen pinouts and check the sticky for pinouts for your noac. Then just solder the video and audio connections together.
Meh, I don't post much.

Wait; are you talking about a console with built-in games, or is it a cartridge-based system? Meaning, is your 8-bit console an NES or a Famiclone? If you've had it since your childhood, then it's probably an NES, not an NOAC. What does the console look like? Does it look like this?

no the one i have is something like a megajoy but it is cartrigee based.when i first looked at it the case was hugw but when i opened it up it was verrrrrrry small its has a cartrige port on a pcb with a huge black blob. and it was connected to another pcb with something i think is a outputter ofthe video and audio as it has the yellow red and white plugs

following jedi krights advice i saw the sticky and then

i took the ps1lcd and cut off the base multiav out and in conectors and used the wires in it instedd of soldering on the pcb .i used the slot 2 1,2,3,4

video,aud,aud,gnd

for testing for the first time i connected the video to pin 1 and the ground of the video to pin 4 and switched it on .the back light of the lcd turns on but i dont get the display of the game list like i gwt on the tv.then i soldered the last pin of slot one to some transitor or something (this was given on sticky) with no luck so can someone help me

i am keen on this because the consoles pcb is so small that it fits in my palm.i bought it for $2.its something like megajoy but with ext cartriges

It takes Famicom (Japanese NES) cartridges. You'll either have to buy an adapter or make one yourself.

The Famicom used a (if I remember correctly) 60-Pin connector. The NES has 10 more pins used for the never used expansion port & (2 or 4) pins for the lockout chip (called the NES10).

Actually, the NES has 12 more pins than the Famicom adapter. Either way, atari is right; you need a converter to run NES games.

If those pinouts didn't work, try soldering directly to the leads on the PSOne mobo. What exactly happens when you turn the unit on? It sounds like a grounding issue to me.

Cold solder joint?

As in, the soldering job was crappy (no offense).
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

If it looks like any of these, then it's pretty bad.
