Has anyone been to forums where the give members awards every year? Like PGNx.net's Pixel Awards?

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that every year there should be a thread where we judge a variety of portables and vote for our favorites of that year.

i think it is a good idea to. we should have a link that you can check out everybodies portables and vote for your favorite.

I say NO!, as some peoples portables may not be good to others, but good to themselves, and when someone says "oh you lose" or whatever, that person may become depressed or such.

You really think someone would get depressed because people like someone else's work over his? That's what one would call a "sore loser".

I say it should be set up in a voting system; it could even have catagories like "best use of bondo" "best color scheme" "best light-weight design" ,etc., etc., etc. (waves hand around like Yule Brenner),,,have poll voting for nominees then set up a flikr gallery for voting and such and the winners get some kind of virtual award.

There should be some rules and guidelines for it like: what catagories are we going to have, how are we going to vote on the porta's and how are we going to prevent vote fraud. The award should be like in the form of a decal that can be put on the porta saying it was an award winning porta.

To prevent "fraud" (I think you mean so that people don't just find pictures of portables and say that they're their's), just make them print off a peice of paper that says "THIS IS NOT FAKE", and take a picture of their portable with that paper in it.

what I was thinking was stopping people from voting 50 million times for their porta or one they like.

Wouldn't they have to make multiple accounts for that? Maybe you could just PM your votes to Ben or something, and he would only accept votes from new people with at least 50 posts or something.

or use a poll, or several, those are hard to spoof unless you do multiple accounts
