Any golfers here on the forum?

Exactly as the title says. Also tell golf stories and such. I've been playing for about 2 years now, (just getting serious as of last year) and I really enjoy it. I normally shoot in the low 90s to mid 80s, which isn't bad for a 14 year old just starting off.

I usually play once a week with my dad and his friends, and have recently made a commitment to play on a regualr basis with some of my friends. We played nine holes today at a fairly nice course, (well kept, some tricky spots) and I played probably one of the best nine holes of golf in my life. I hit a 38 (par was 33) without a single birdie on the day! I hit some good par shots, good (well, good to me) bogeys, and sank two 20-foot putts and dunked a 50-yard pitch to save par. It was a good day

!

So how 'bout you guys?

I've done some golfing at a couple driving ranges in my area. I haven't gone out and golfed on any green, yet.

I played my first course last week (9 hole) and I got a 51. I can't putt really well, and that made me lose 2 birdies and a couple pars.
Overall it was pretty fun and I'm going to go play again soon!

I play at a local place, its called detonia. (its in toronto if you wanna google map it;North of Victoria Park and danforth) Its a Small 18 course, no drivers, really helps you work on your irons when you play it. As for me i want to buy some decent golf clubs soon time.

That reminds me! I've got a set of nice, new(er) Callaway irons, that Rossa putter that came out last year, Big Bertha (original) woods, and a Big Bertha Hawkey by Callaway as my driver. I really don't like my driver; I normally hit my dad's new Cleveland-something; it's got a huge club head, and it's better for my swing; I was looking to buy a Ping g2 or g3; can anyone recommend either one?

i can't specifically recommend either one, but i CAN vouch for ping, as i hit ping clubs at a driving range.

I started with rightie clubs when I was about seven, but instead of getting better as time went on, I got worse. I'm naturally a lefty, so when I was 13 I tried leftie clubs. Fixed me right up. I've been banging balls on the "wrong side" for two years.

Any leftie golfers? I hardly ever meet any.

Meh, I'm kind of a golfer. I would be a lot better than I am, but I only play once every 4 months, so its really hard to progress that way. I have great clubs though. A set of Taylor Rac irons, and plenty of various drivers. I hardly use my drivers at all, though, as I can hit my 5 iron just as far as I can any driver (and my accuracy is better too). My grandpa is obsessed with the game, and he bought me the clubs.
