Sega Genesis 3

Post by atari2600a »

About 3 years ago, I tore apart a Sega Genesis 3 in hopes of building a portable Sega Genesis. I did nothing to the circuitry, & left the metal shielding on. Remember that I wasn't very educated on how game systems & TV's work, so I taped my pocket TV on top of the shielding & had it connected to the pocket tv using the RF switchbox. Then, (remember, this was before Ben's Exodus) I learned about the Sega Nomad, & the project was discontinued (I never finished it) I still have the pocket TV & the SG3 mobo in the shielding (Not attatched to eachother)

So, I was just wondering, you you guys think the SG3 mobo is still worth portablising? I can easily get my hands on a 5" LCD, & I can just get a crappy plastic shell from RadioShack, I just don't know if it's still worth it...

Go for it. At the very least you can make a portable Genesis of that size that can still play Sonic 3.

genesis 3 is definitely a good thing to portablize. it's tiny and 100% compatible with everything (other than 32x and CD). it's also really efficient, it only takes around 140-200ma

Does anyone have a pic of a revision three with a case still on it? I need it for reference when looking for one.
