Modding a Pal PSOne screen to output 50hz AND 60Hz

oke so this is my problem i need a screen to output 50hz and 60hz so i was thinking of modding my pal psone screen to output both

now what i need to know is which components on a ntsc psone screen output 60hz

if i were able to switch between components like the 50hz ones and then with a switch to the 60hz ones

would that be possible??

just like switching the motherboard but i know that it is only a few components and not the complete motherboard.

adn can someone also post the differance between a ntsc psone screen and a pal psone screen?

firstly this should be in the screen forum.

1. A PAL or NTSC screen can only output that, on the ribbon cable of the lcd it says PAL or NTSC the panel only supports one refresh rate.

2. I doubt it would be possible but i am not sure.

3. They are effectively the same screen so i am going to say the answer is no

I think that converters can be bought, but they might be a bit bulky for a portable project. (I used to have a friend from Europe who brought a PAL console with him and he had to get a converter)

On the NTSC screen, one of the quartz crystals is 3.57MHz. It will be a little less for PAL. You might try wiring up a DPDT switch.

which quartz crystals is 3.57MHz? a pic woul be nice then i could see where it is on the board.

and if i put a DPDT switch on only that could i then change from 50 to 60hz?? aren't there any more thing i need to switch?

I'm guessing that you want the screen to output both PAL and NTSC. If that is so, I'd not sure it is possible without a bulky converter and/or sacrificing video quality. It's not just the refresh rate that is different but I believe that PAL makes up for the lower refresh rate by having more scan lines. So... I'm guessing its possible but not probable in a portable.

i had a look at my screen and the LCD panel says PAL on the ribbon cable.
